Christmas at Collinwood

(I do not mind if anyone uses these icons, but I will not make anymore Collins unless you ask. I also can make other characters.)

Was I missed?

OOC: I feel I spent enough time in the shadows, and guess what?! I feel as though all the bullshit that happened doesn’t bother me as much anymore. As for now, I am in current need of my Collins! Any and all are excepted and please follow me! We shall be the best Independent Collins EVAH!

I want to Roleplay Julia again, because I spent hours working and gathering her muse and it wasn’t dead, just very veeeery upset. So please message me if you would like to RP with me!

OOC: I Love it When

When people actually think Tim Burton is all about a storyline. He is more of an art form, not a story. To fully understand him, one has to look at the pictures, not the words.

Granted, his writings such as the original Nightmare Before Christmas Poem, Vincent, and the short stories and poems for Oyster Boy were excellent, he really does not write the screenplays for his films. The idea his is, but stop putting the blame solely on him please.

Well, first of all, a lot of his films are his take on other concepts, which last I checked, you can and are allowed to do. Second, let’s take Dark Shadows. No, you can’t take a show with hundreds of episodes and a few spin-offs, so that’s why he didn’t try. He just took the characters and settings, and told someone to make up a sort of new story, and when he directed, added his own brand of style to it. I laugh at anyone who thinks that any screenwriter or director can do that, unless it’s their own television show. And on a related Dark Shadows note, apparently most of the original cast, those who saw Tim’s Film or were directly or indirectly involved with it, all liked how it turned out, so…? Yeah you can prefer the Original television show, or the original film, but do not bash or hate on Tim. It doesn’t make you look good at all, unless you are paid to give your opinions, like a critic.

That’s what we should do generally, show love and support, and if we do not like something, either formulate a coherent opinion where it doesn’t sound hostile, or just keep said opinion to yourself. An example of a coherent opinion is:

“So I watched Burton’s Planet of the Apes. It just didn’t feel the same way to me as the original film did. The original film was groundbreaking. This was just Tim saying I want to make a Planet of the Apes film too.”

And this is what most people seem to be capable of:

“OH MY GOD I FUCKIN’ HATE TIM BURTON! WHY DID HE DO THIS TO PLANET OF THE APES?! I WANNA THROW UP! *insert gif of someone crying, angry, or throwing up* “

there, just my opinion on how one should conduct themselves while giving their own opinion. Don’t be extreme in hate, take your hate in moderation, and you will not only look like a great person for doing so, chances are you will feel better on the topic and it will not bother you as much.
