She took offense quickly to such a question. Of course she knew what he meant, or did she? “That it repeats itself? Or were you meaning to ask me about your history?”
“I merely asked you if you were familiar.” He explained. “Regardless of what your answer would have been, I would have asked you if you were familiar with my family name.”
If there was one thing she could not stand, was being tested. She could dish out a test like nobody’s business, but when the tables turned, she grew uncomfortable. “Well, I can’t say that I am. In fact, I was surprised to find you. But would you care to enlighten me?”
A thought came upon Julia as she absorbed what he said. He was no longer the ruler of Hungry and yet, he still lived and with such a wonderfully dark palace to match. His nail did not hurt her, for she was used to that touch, and even tilted her neck forward to help him see her marks from Barnabas. “Well, seeing as how that was my original purpose, I think I found something better. I have helped fallen rulers in the past regain their rightful place and authority. Perhaps I can help you?”
Gabriel released the woman’s chin and let out a laugh, out of the ordinary for him. He turned from her, looking over his shoulder at her. “Maiden, are you familiar with history?” He asked.

She was aware he was a Vampire and of nobility, but not a king. “Oh, well then forgive me, your highness. I may have overlooked one aspect than.” She curtsied very quickly to make up for her slight mistake and slowly moved her way towards him.
“Now now, this is the proper respect I expect from my subjects.” Gabriel shook his head slightly. “It no longer matter however, the Bathory house as fallen so my title as King no longer means anything, and Hungary does not recognize me as their leader.” He explained, meeting the woman at the bottom of the stairs. The vampire lifted her chin up by the point of his nail to get a good look at her. “By what do you mean when you said ‘how vampires work’, do you intend to perform experiments?”

“Don’t play with me. I figured you out, and what you are within seconds. And yes, that was because I have encountered others of your kind, and for a very brief time, was one myself.” Hoffman replied in her usual dominate tone, thinking she knew everything. “But enough of that, I have come to see how other Vampires work. May I ask, are you reluctant?”
“You have confidence, maiden, speaking to a king, let along a vampire king, in such a way.” Gabriel chuckled under his breath. “Please, I would be glad to oblige you, please approach my throne.” He beckoning, motioning with his bony hand.

Oh, he was another fancy Vampire. What was with her and being in the company of classy blood suckers. “Greetings. You are a vampire, are you not?” Julia asked.
“Quick on the uptake, aren’t you, maiden?” Gabriel perked up a bit in his chair. “You have encountered my kind in the past, have you?”

“Greetings, maiden.” The vampire greeted the woman rather listlessly from perched upon his throne. “What do you here?”

Waking from yet another one of her extended hangovers, Julia noticed a lot more green decorating in Collinwood. Oh wait, maybe she was tripping? No, she didn’t take any drugs, just a lot of booze, but poor the amount of green in the room was scary to a point. Suddenly, she realized that this was not the manor she called home at all, and must have fallen asleep in that damned mysterious room again. “Oh good lord, where the hell am I?” she asked herself, not knowing someone was very nearby.
“You’re in Oz.” Oz stated simply. “The land of Oz. A bit odd, I know. You’re not the first to pass through here like I had. It’s kind of funny to watch the newcomers freak out a bit though.” He said, folding his arms across his chest.
“Did you just say, Oz? As in, the Wizard of Oz?” Julia was stunned. This was one of her favorite films as a little girl. Seeing another girl kill a wicked witch and saving a whole place. But she was still very curious. “With a yellow brick road and ruby slippers?” She asked.
